Happy New Year!

Wishing a wonderful new year to you all!  I’ve been looking back over the last year and wanted to share some of the milestones with you…

First Year Anniversary!

The Crafting Place shop opened it's doors on 2nd Oct 2015 so this October we made it past the first year!  There have been so many wonderful customers during the year who I look forward to seeing again during the second year.

New products:

In September I was finally able to bring in a proper range of tapestry and cross stitch kits.  At some point I hope to be able to have a full selection of threads, but for the moment there is Aida on the roll for those of you who make up your own charts.

I've also been able to expand the number of yarn ranges and the patterns to go with them.  My personal favourites are the chunky Sirdar Aura and the classic Sirdar Snuggly for children and Sirdar Snowflake which I'm still trying to find the time to make a little teddy bear with.

New team:

In the Spring, Claire (www.imadethiscrafts.co.uk) started working in collaboration with me to cover the sewing and haberdashery side of things.  Her talent and enthusiasm have definitely made life easier and we can now offer so many more interesting workshops and classes and loads more stock in the shop.

We've made my shop the retail space and her shop is now a lovely big workshop space where we can work with larger groups as well as individual lessons.

Looking ahead...

So what can you expect this year from us? For a start, expect more posts here on the blog.  We want to start posting tutorials and patterns as well as keeping up to date with interesting things happening in the crafty world and possibly the odd whimsical waffle!

We will be offering a regular schedule of classes, workshops and natter groups alongside a regular Friday slot for interesting guest tutors.  For example, our neighbour here at Smithbrook Kilns, The Edge of the Florist, will be running regular floristry workshops.  You can see the full schedule here.

Finally, of course, we will continue to bring you new ranges of products - please let us know what you would like us to stock for you!

With heartfelt thanks for all your support and the very best wishes for 2017,

Vicki & Claire
